Gov. Quinn signs internet tax law, businesses vow to leave

In a move some predict will cause a mass exodus of jobs from Illinois, Gov. Pat Quinn signed off on a bill that asks internet retailers to collect sales tax on customers’ purchases.
The measure was approved by the previous General Assembly in the final days of the lame duck session. Quinn’s deadline to act on the legislation — nicknamed the “Amazon tax” — was drawing near.
